Can someone tell me what exactly this means? My stylist wants to cut the back of my hair short and leave the front long. Since most of the pictures I see at this site are only the front, is this normal for a bob to be shorter in the back? Are bangs in this season? Looking for a new style for spring. My hair is presently shoulder length long layers.

i consider the inverted bob to be longer in front/shorter in back. this is the 2nd time i've had a bob, & have had this one for about a year now. this post interested me because a. i have this cut b. i had bangs done today for the 1st time in about 15 years (i'm loving them!) c. i've found no good pics on the web of the BACK of any bobs.

the bob is a fun cut, but w/o styling (preferably curling iron after blow dry) mine doesn't look nearly as good.. mine is straight.

This is called an inverted bob from your discription. It was very popular here 4 years ago and is disappearing. Bangs are in and out depending on what you need (work.) Some expensive stylists cut hair in different areas of the country or World. Style varies geographically and in time. Beauty pageants have seen a shift in winners due to a whole lot of things including hair! Your questions are very understandable depending upon where you live in the World !!!
