I've finally been able to take a break and work on the web site. We've got about 140 bob pictures in the queue to be 'processed', but they're waiting for me to write a tool that will add them to the new PHP/SQL database. Yesterday I did lots of work on scripts to make the uploaded images easier to process, along with the design work for the remake of the admin tools. With any luck the admin tool will be done today or tomorrow and I'll be able to get back to yummy task of actually processing and adding the Bobs to the database. Woohoo!

Can I be any slower? guh! Many apologies! I've had other very important things taking my time.

D'oh! The "Date Added" and "Name" criteria (in the left-hand frame) aren't linked to the SQL database yet. They are still using the old text-based data. Anyone using either of those may, if they look closely enough, see inconsistancies. I'll fix that problem as soon as I can. This is all part of one big "fix", it's just taking several days.

At this moment it looks like the new admin tools are working well enough to add images to the database. That's the good news. The bad news is you can't select out the "new" pictures without the "Date Added" criteria working.

It won't be long now!

Well, after two 11-hour coding days working on the new administrativ tools, I'm very pleased with how they're turning out. However, they're still about a day away from being done, not counting extracurricular activities that will no doubt pop up over the weekend.

I now have a tool I can use to modify the existing database, so I no longer have to write long SQL queries to mark an image as "Blonde" or "Short". Now I need the other half of the equasion, which will allow for the actual addition of new images to the database.

In the 1990s I spent much of my time with numb fingertips from how much coding I was doing. It's fascinating how quickly that feeling comes back.
